[Mu'mina]

سألونى قالوا كيفما هذا الثبات .. وحَولَنا فتنٌ تهزُ الراسيات
They asked me: How come this steadfastness
Whilst we are surrounded with temptations that overwhelm us?

أليس يغريكِ زمانُ الشهوات .. أليس تشتهى نفُسكِ هذى الحياة
Don't the temptations entice you over time?
Doesn't your soul desire this life?

فأجبتُهم والقلبُ يملؤه اعتزاز لا تشتهى نفسى لذائذَ ناقصات
So I replied to them and the heart is full with honour
My soul doesn't desire temporary pleasures.

لما اشتهيتم اشتهيتُ مثلُكم ... .لكن أهدافى ستبقى خالدات
When I desired, I desired similar to you
but my goals will remain forever

أريد قصراً لا يهدده زوال .. .أريد عيشاً ليسَ يقطعهُ ممات
I want a palace which is not perished
I want a life which is not cut off by death (ever lasting life)

أريد زوجاً مثل يوسفَ فى الجمال.. .وأريدُ أنهاراً بقصرى جاريات
I want a husband similar to Yusuf (as) in beauty
And I want rivers at my palace flowing.

فعقُولنا إن لم تبلغنا الجنان....فحياتُنا ليست حياةً بل ممات
So if our intellect doesn't lead us to the Gardens of Paradise
Then our lives are not real lives, but death!

فأمامُنا قبرٌ تشيبُ له العقول..وظلامهُ تخافُ منه الظلمات
And facing us is the grave; the thought of it is beyond comprehension
and its darkness is frightening

وبعده حشرٌ ونشرٌ وحساب ..وسوف يخسرُ من أتى بالسيئات
And after that, is gathering, resurrection and reckoning
And one who came with evil will be the looser

وسوف يسألُ ربنُا عن الخُطا.... وسائلٌ عن العيونِِِ المبصرات
And then our Lord will ask us about our sins
And we will be asked about what our eyes have seen.

وسائلٌ عن اللسانِِ والجنان...وسائلٌ عن كلِِ لحظة بالحياة
And we will be asked about what our tongues have uttered, and about the hidden matters ,
And about every moment in our lives.

فمطالبى فاقت عقولَ الحائرات....فلاتلومونى فذا سرُ الثبات
Thus my demand has gone beyond the limits of imagination
So do not blame me as this is the secret of my steadfastness

نبح الكلابُ لكن ما ضرّ السحاب....هبت رياحٌ والجبالُ ثابتات
The dogs are barked, yet the clouds are not affected,
The winds blow and the mountains are firm.

نامت عيونٌ وعيونٌ ساهرات...باتت تصلى لمجيبِ الدعوات
Some eyes sleep and other eyes stay awake all night
They stayed awake all night to pray to the One Who responds to the supplications.

فتلك همتها جنانٌ خالدات.. وتلك همتها زخرفةُ العباء.
So that is her concern, Everlasting Paradise
So that is her concern, full of unlimited delights
