Hasan Al-Basri (ﺭﺣﻤﻪ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ) was asked: "Shouldn't we feel ashamed to ask Allah to forgive us, then sin again, then ask for forgiveness, then do it again?" He replied: "Shaytaan wishes that you would have this attitude, so do not tire of asking for forgiveness." (Jaami' al-'Uloom wal-Hikam)
