I'm sure your thickness is excused. I think the narrator is a random brother, not acquainted with the sister, who understands the inherent bond between muslims and he knows his place and his duty to his sister. And that fact really boosts the beauty of the poem a million-fold. I wonder what the sister's version of this poem would sound like...

I think this poem is important for sisters to know that there are people looking out for them, though I would like to know how many brothers feel the way the brother describes in the poem. It's true that as a hijab-wearer out in the big bad world, you are noticed and targeted more than otherwise. So it's nice to know that just in case you need them, there are people looking out for you. I find myself registering the presence of a brother if i'm on the bus for example, I don't need to know him, but if he's got the beard thing going on (or whatever) I wouldn't hesitate to ask him for help if I need it. Point being of course, nice poem.

I once wrote one line about this in a poem but for me it was a very powerful line.

For somebody to write a whole poem about it is just amazing. SubhanAllah fantastic work and i dont usually say that..
