I just wanted to tell you about my webpage, muslimphotos.net. It's about pictures of muslim locations from different places in the world. There are some 2700 pictures on the site already, from Syria, Palestine, Pakistan, Istanbul, Spain, Libanon and Morocco, just to mention some of them. Many people are not able to see the places I've visited by their own, and finding good high-res pictures on the net can be a challenge. I've travelled to different places myself, and published high-res (internet-wise) on the internet, for people to see for themselves how these places look like. It can in fact also be used for people to deceid where to spend their holidays, as they get a good indication of how it would be on the different locations. If any of you have access to a webpage, please make a link to my page from it, as more people will be able to enjoy these picutres. Also, if any of you need any of my pictures in any publication, magazine etc, please contact me. I can provide pictures which are not watermarked. Below is some example pictures. Thanks Kat. Nice feedback.
That's one of my aims, to give people who have not been at these places the possibility to see them. There are not many sites on the net which shows such high-res pictures of muslim destinatinos. Also, its important to give another picture of Islam and Muslims than what the main stream media shows. |

As far as I know there are only 3 'special' Masjids that can be considered more holy than any other Masjid.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 21, Number 281: Narrated Quza'a: I heard Abu Said saying four words. He said, "I heard the Prophet (saying the following narrative)." He had participated in twelve holy battles with the Prophet. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Do not set out on a journey except for three Mosques i.e. Al-Masjid-AI-Haram, the Mosque of Allah's Apostle , and the Mosque of Al-Aqsa, (Mosque of Jerusalem)." Volume 3, Book 29, Number 87: Narrated Qaza'a, the slave of Ziyad: Abu Said who participated in twelve Ghazawat with the Prophet said, "I heard four things from Allah's Apostle (or I narrate them from the Prophet ) which won my admiration and appreciation. They are: 1. "No lady should travel without her husband or without a Dhu-Mahram for a two-days' journey. 2. No fasting is permissible on two days of 'Id-al-Fitr, and 'Id-al-Adha. 3. No prayer (may be offered) after two prayers: after the 'Asr prayer till the sun set and after the morning prayer till the sun rises. 4. Not to travel (for visiting) except for three mosques: Masjid-al-Haram (in Mecca), my Mosque (in Medina), and Masjid-al-Aqsa (in Jerusalem)." Sahih Muslim Book 007, Number 3218: Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported it directly from Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) that he said: Do not undertake journey but to three mosques: this mosque of mine, the Mosque of al-Haram and the Mosque of Aqsa (Bait al-Maqdis). Book 007, Number 3220: Abu Haraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) as saying: One should undertake journey to three mosques: the mosque of the Ka'ba, my mosque, and the mosque of Elia (Bait al-Maqdis). |

Salaam Thanks for the info SoA. But I've never proclaimed that any place is more holy than other. I'm just saying that many of the places I've been, and picturized, are in fact holy. All mosques are in a sense holy, as it's a kind of house of God. Also, many muslim do travel to many shrines and places in example Damascus, to see the graves of Sahaba (RA), and decendents (RA) of the Prophet (SAW). So, muslims feel that those places are holy. But I'm not in the place to rank one such place over the other. That said, I do also have pictures from one of the three "more holy" mosques. That is, the Masjid'e Aqsa and the rest of the Haram Sharif. And inshAllah, one day, there will also be picutres from the two other mosques which can be seen as more holy than others. I don't see it as not allowed to make such a place, whether for Hadrath Bilal (RA), nor prophet Yahyah (AS), or saiyidina Zainab (RA) and Saiyidina Ruqayya. It's merely a place where we know they are burried, where you can go and offer some prayers for them. Don't see what could be wrong with that. Wa'assalam |

Just a quick not that muslimphotos.net has been updated. It now includes some videos, in addition to some of my pics from my recent trip to Saudi Arabia.
Currently there are pictures from Masjid Al Haram, and Masjid Al Nabawi (both from the inside and outside). More pics from Makkah and Madinah will inshAllah follow. |
